We are some of the participants of the detmolder group, who take part on the project "spirits of sports". We (Kathrin, Julia, Lea, Anna) will now tell you something about detmold and the project. Detmold is a little bur pretty city in Nordrhein-Westfalen. We have 75.000 inhabitants . Famous pubs in Detmold are Fuchsbau, Dachsbau and Gothland.

We take part on the project because we want to meet young people from other european countries and want to learn something about their cultures. It´s also a good method to upgrade our linguistic knowledge. The sports made it easy to get in contact to the other groups.

Zeitz is in the south of Sachsen-Anhalt and has 27.000 inhabitants. It is 350 km away from Detmold. In Zeitz are many sightseeings like the townhall, the subsurface waysystem, many churches and Schloss Moritzburg with a museum. At present our city is very famous because of the Landesgartenschau. It is the first time, that such a big event is an attraction for many people living in Germany to come to Zeitz. Moreover there are many offers for sports and free time in our 1000 years old town. Different volleyball-, football and ju-jutsu teams are very successful. For example the ju-jutsu team regularly takes part on european championships and has good results.

We are five students from the Geschwister.Scholl-gymnasium in Zeitz and hopefully will have our "Abitur-"certificate (GCE-A levels) after 13 years of school. We are interested in sports and are very active. Our coach Heiko ("Hajo") is a member of the SV Eintrach Profen. Daniel, our biggest on (1,96m) is a member of the SV Eintracht Bornitz and is a forward. The others (Susanne, MAurice, Anja) are playing volleyball. The men of the SV Motor Zeitz, where Maurice is playing, are represented in the "Landesoberliga". Susanne is in the female group. Anja is playing at SG Chemie Zeitz. This year they ascended to the "Landesliga"

Our decision to take part on this european week was very spontaneous but we have lots of fun and regret nothing!
